Solar battery health check

A home battery is one of the most expensive parts of your energy setup, and it works quietly in the background – so problems often go unnoticed until the bills creep up. A specialist battery health check tests capacity, firmware, charge settings and backup, checks the installation against the battery standard, and gives you a clear report. Any brand, any installer.

  • Capacity, firmware and settings tested
  • Charge schedule tuned to your tariff
  • Free check-up at two years for our own customers

Signs your battery needs a health check

Your app tells a story if you know what to look for. Book a check if any of these sound familiar.

  • Not charging fullyThe battery stops short of 100% on clear, sunny days.
  • Empty early in the eveningStored power runs out sooner than it did when new.
  • Errors or offline in the appWarnings, missing data or the battery shows as offline.
  • Bills creeping upYou’re buying more evening power than you used to.
  • Backup didn’t workThe lights went out in a blackout even though you have backup.

Quick question

Is your battery still pulling its weight?

A battery that’s half-charging or set up wrong for your tariff can cost hundreds a year without you noticing.

Why get your battery checked?

Batteries need very little attention – but the attention they do need makes a real difference.

Get the savings you paid for

Wrong charge windows or reserve settings can leave stored energy unused at peak times.

Catch capacity loss early

Some capacity loss is normal with age. Faster loss can point to a fault that may be a warranty claim.

Stay on current firmware

Manufacturers release updates that fix bugs and improve performance and safety.

Make sure backup works

Find out before the next blackout, not during it.

Keep the install safe

Checks against AS/NZS 5139 for clearances, ventilation and protection.

Protect your warranty

A documented check shows the battery has been looked after.

What’s included in every battery health check

A specialist visit, the right tools and a written report.

  1. History review

We review your app data and logs for errors, cycles and charge patterns.

  2. Capacity test

We check how much the battery stores and delivers compared with its rating.

  3. Firmware & settings

Battery and inverter firmware updated where recommended; charge windows tuned to your tariff.

  4. Backup & safety

Backup circuits tested and the installation checked against AS/NZS 5139.

  5. Written report

Results, changes made and anything that needs attention or a warranty claim.

Battery health check FAQs

How often should a home battery be checked?

Every two years suits most homes. Our own customers get a free routine check-up two years after installation.

Do you check batteries installed by other companies?

Yes. We check FoxESS, GoodWe, Sungrow, Sigenergy, Growatt, Alpha ESS, SOFAR and other brands.

Is it normal for a battery to lose capacity?

Yes, a little each year is normal. Faster loss than the warranty allows can point to a fault, and a health check gives you the evidence for a claim.

Can you change my battery settings to save more?

Yes. We set charge and discharge windows and reserve levels to suit your tariff and when you use power.

Will a health check update my firmware?

Where the manufacturer recommends it, we update battery and inverter firmware during the visit.

How quickly can you come out?

Our two full-time service staff answer your call and start resolving issues within five working days. We work Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
