Why businesses invest in commercial solar
Businesses use most of their electricity during the day – exactly when solar produces. That high self-consumption is why commercial solar typically pays back faster than residential.
- Lower operating costsReplace daytime grid power at business tariffs with your own generation.
- Cut peak demand chargesSolar and battery storage reduce the demand component many commercial tariffs charge.
- Price certaintyLock in a large share of your energy cost for 25+ years of panel life.
- Sustainability credentialsMeasurable emissions cuts for customers, tenders and reporting.
- Asset valueSolar adds appeal to owned premises and can attract tenants.

Commercial solar FAQs
What size commercial solar system do I need?
It depends on how much power your business uses during the day and your roof or land space. Most of our commercial projects are between 50kW and 96kW, and we install systems from 30kW to 100kW. We size your system from your interval data and tariff.
Are there rebates for commercial solar?
Yes. Commercial solar systems up to 100kW create small-scale technology certificates (STCs), which we take as an upfront discount. Commercial batteries from 5kWh to 100kWh can also qualify for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount. Speak to your accountant about the tax treatment of your system.
How long does a commercial solar installation take?
Timeframes depend on system size and network approval. Larger systems need approval from your electricity distributor before installation, which we manage. Installation itself typically takes a few days, scheduled to minimise disruption to your business.
Will installation disrupt my business?
We plan installation around your operations. Most work happens on the roof, and the switchover is scheduled at a time that suits you, such as early morning, after hours or a quiet day.
Do you install solar on farms?
Yes. Most of our 100+ commercial projects are farm systems of 50kW to 96kW across regional Victoria, powering dairies, pumps, sheds and cool rooms. Farm solar.
Can I add battery storage to commercial solar?
Yes. A commercial battery can reduce peak demand charges, cover early-morning and evening operations and back up critical loads. We design battery storage from your load profile. Commercial solar and battery.
Do you travel for commercial projects?
Yes. We install commercial and farm solar across Victoria and travel further for larger projects. Travel costs, if any, are listed on your proposal.
