How the STC solar rebate works
Under the federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, new solar systems create small-scale technology certificates (STCs). We take these as an upfront discount on your price.
The discount is larger for bigger systems and reduces each year until the scheme ends in 2030, so it is worth more if you install sooner.
- Applied upfrontTaken off your price on the quote.
- Bigger systems, bigger discountThe number of certificates depends on system size and location.
- Falls each JanuaryUntil the scheme ends in 2030.
The federal battery discount
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program gives roughly 30% off an eligible battery at the point of sale. It is not means tested and covers homes, businesses and community groups, for batteries from 5kWh to 100kWh.
Since 1 May 2026 batteries up to about 14kWh receive close to full support and larger capacity earns less per kWh. The discount steps down on 1 January 2027 and then every six months until 2030.
- Not means testedAvailable to homes, businesses and community groups.
- Point-of-sale discountTaken off your quote, no claim to lodge.
